Springvale Water Treatment Plant – Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure

The new water treatment plant at Mount Piper Power Station is being constructed to treat the mine water from the local coal mine to a standard suitable for either industrial reuse at the power station or environmental release. As a subcontractor to Veolia Water Australia, Abergeldie’s contracted scope of work include:

3km of polyethylene Ring main 90mm and 200mm with over 70 offtakes and turnups to treatment structures, service water, potable water and compressed air
Interface polyethylene lines ranging from 20mm to 360mm
Mechanical pipe, valve and pump installation to Brine R.O, Filter Press, and polymer building
Installation of potable water, safety showers and service water emergency hose reels
Clean and dirty water drainage PVC and core flew pipe ranging from 150mm to 710mm incl pits
Pot water brine overflow 250mm CPVC SCH80
Electrical communication pits and turnups incl Cleaning and proving
Chemical dosing installation incl sulfuric acid, ferric chloride
Loading stations, dosing skids and quills, CPVC UPVC SCH80 and underground leak trace
Maintain quality walkways and environmental controls around site
Detailed excavation for all tanks and slabs
All underground pipe testing and flushing
General plant and labour hire
